T-90是俄罗斯第三代主战坦克，由T-72发展而来，旨在取代后者。它装备了125毫米2A46滑膛主炮、1A45T火控系统、升级型发动机以及炮手热成像瞄准镜。标准防护措施包括钢与复合装甲的混合结构、烟雾弹发射器、Kontakt-5爆炸反应装甲（ERA）以及Shtora红外反坦克导弹（ATGM）干扰系统。

T-90由位于俄罗斯下塔吉尔的Uralvagonzavod设计制造，于1992年进入俄罗斯军队服役。据称该坦克首次参战是在1999年达吉斯坦战争中，隶属于俄罗斯陆军。此后俄罗斯在2017年介入叙利亚内战时也使用了该型坦克。俄罗斯T-90坦克曾部署于2014年顿巴斯战争，并在2022年俄罗斯入侵乌克兰后的全面俄乌战争中投入使用。叙利亚阿拉伯陆军在2017年叙利亚内战中使用了该坦克，阿塞拜疆陆军在2020年第二次纳戈尔诺-卡拉巴赫战争中同样使用了该型坦克。
